OAR Inspiring talk raises £3000 for charity

An evening with gold medal rower Sir Steve Redgrave, sponsored by Alan Day Volkswagen, has raised £3000 for charity.

The event was held at Belmont Mill Hill Preparatory School in Mill Hill Village to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and sports equipment for the school.

Sir Steve Redgrave is the greatest Olympian Britain has ever produced and is the only athlete ever to have won five times gold medalist at consecutive Olympic Games in an endurance sport five consecutive Olympic Games. At the event, which was attended by over 180 people, he entertained the audience with memories of his great career and emphasized how important the support he had received from his family was in his achievements.

Paul Tanner, Alan Day’s Managing Director said the event was a huge success.  “It’s great to work in partnership with a local school and Marie Curie to raise money for such worthy causes.  Sir Steve was a fantastic and entertaining guest”.
